Speaking to Premier League Productions ahead of Crystal Palace's home game against Burnley, Eagles shot-stopper Wayne Hennessey spoke on his ambitions at the club and his form this season.
Hennessey won both the Man of the Match award for his performance against Manchester United and also the ManBetX Player of the Month award for November.
On the game against United, he said, "It was a fantastic team performance, everyone played well, everyone made an impact. My back four were brilliant. If they keep playing like that, hopefully I’ll get a few more clean sheets."
So far, Hennessey has enjoyed a season to remember, and says he is working hard for it to continue going forward alongside his fellow shot-stoppers and coach, Dean Kiely.
"Competition is healthy, I always agree on that. For myself, it’s nice having Vincente Guaita come in, it keeps me on my toes and hopefully I can keep the number one shirt.
"Dean coming to the club has been a massive help, there’s a lot of experience on his side and I’m learning from him. It’s always nice to work with such a great talent, he reads the game very well and helps me all the way.
"You want to get as good as you can and keep working hard and I want to be Palace number one for a long time. If I keep training hard and playing well in games, hopefully that’ll happen."
Fans will be keen for that to be the case, and it's them who the Welshman is looking to make happy. He said, "It’s massive to win over the fans. As a goalkeeper, you want the praise of the fans and if you keep playing well they keep praising you. But the fans are absolutely fantastic, they keep getting behind us and are so loud, it’s amazing."
