Two goals from Christian Eriksen meant it was a disappointing trip to Denmark for Wayne Hennessey with the Wales squad as they suffered a 2-0 defeat in the Nations League on Sunday.
The home side came into the game on the back of a last 16 place in the World Cup but in this match a goal in each half saw them back to winning ways against Ryan Giggs side.
Eriksen’s first goal of the night came just past the 30 minute mark when Hennessey was beaten by a low shot that found its way into the net off the inside of the post.
Wales tried to get themselves back in the game but were thankful to the Eagles goalkeeper for making an excellent one handed save to deny Pione Sisto to keep the deficit at just the one goal.
The visitors enjoyed a good start to the second period but were to be on the wrong end of a decision in their own box when Ethan Ampadu was unfortunate to have been adjudged to have handled as a cross came into the box and Eriksen made no mistake from the spot to convert his ninth goal in his last 12 games.
Hennessey will now return to league action before the next round of international games in October when Wales come against Spain and the Republic of Ireland.
