Sørloth Suffers Narrow Defeat

10 September 2018

Alexander Sørloth was a half time substitute as Norway suffered a 1-0 defeat in Sofia against Bulgaria on Sunday afternoon.

The deadlock hadn’t been broken at the break when the Eagles striker replaced Bjørn Johnsen but the home side did get the vital breakthrough in this Group C UEFA Nations League match when Radoslav Vasilev got ahead of his man to head home a cross from Strahil Popov to give the Bulgaria side the advantage.

Norway were reduced to ten men in the closing minutes when Håvard Nordtveit was shown his second yellow card of the game and the visitors were left having to settle for just the one win over the international break.

Sørloth will now turn his attention to club matters before Norway's next two games in the competition in October when they will face Slovenia and another match against Bulgaria
