A group of players from the Under-13 and 14 squads left the training ground to head for the Sky Studios in Brentford earlier in the week.
After lunch, the boys took part in a 'Careers in Football' workshop with its founder Toby French and later partook in various press conference scenarios. Many of the budding young press officers were impressive in their conduct.
Next, the Academy sides were introduced to three Sky Academy mentors who took charge of each group and handed out their Sky Sports news lanyards denoting the job each boy had volunteered to undertake in the studio.
Imani-Lara Lansiquot, a young sprinter who won gold in the 100 metres relay at the 2018 European Championships, was the Sky Scholar and joined the groups as they produced as edited various news reports.
Once the Sky Sports News report was completed, Lansiquot conducted a question and answer session on some very astute and clever questions.
Each young player will receive a copy of their completed news report. Visits such as this are beneficial to the young players' extracurricular development and for the staff to see them in a different environment.
