Pick up your matchday programme pre-Wolves today!

22 September 2019

The matchday programme for today's clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers will be available to buy for £3.50 from various points around the ground and en route to Selhurst Park.

We don't reckon you'll be able to read our interview with Cheikhou Kouyaté without ending it with a big smile on your face; what a character our Africa Cup of Nations finalist is. Hear from the midfielder on the summer in Egypt, playing centre-back and Luka Milivojevic's rise as a teammate at Anderlecht to Kouyaté's captain in SE25.

Here's a snippet from that interview:

Kouyaté added: “It’s very, very hard because you’re the captain but you want to cry but at the same time you don’t want to cry in front of your teammates, especially the younger ones as you need to show them how to deal with the setback.

“You get them focussing on going further the next time at the Africa Cup of Nation; I say to them: ‘Don’t cry. You’re an unbelievable player, stay strong.’ But it is very hard for me because I want to cry but this is football and you must forget this one and look to the future.”

Moving on, Martin Kelly's 'Fantasy Five' 5-a-side team based upon on central defenders he has played with in his career might not ever concede a goal. However, Kelly's team does include a rather surprising, and somewhat, biased inclusion.

Richard Shaw's second column of the season looks at the Palace U23s' start to the season, with the Eagles having the same number of wins, losses and draws from their opening six games. Furthermore, Shaw talks Shaun Derry's arrival and looks ahead to Monday's game against Queens Park Rangers.

Further columns come from Palace Women's captain, Freya Holdaway, who talks Lewes, Aston Villa, Conti Cup and teammate Ashlee Hincks. As usual, you'll be able to hear from Luka Milivojevic, Roy Hodgson and Steve Parish.

That's just a little insight into what to expect from the matchday programme with lots more Palace stats, stories and trivia to sink your teeth into as you build-up the pre-match hype. Grab your copy today for just £3.50!
