The midfielder though was not in a mood to celebrate after the game as he felt the second half dominance should have seen them pick up maximum points.
“I am not happy with the point after all the chances that we created and then missed but in my opinion today we deserved three points.”
The penalty was nearly kept out by Newcastle's Karl Darlow but fortune was on the side of the Serbian as the power of the shot meant the goalkeeper couldn’t keep it out.
“Last time I was unlucky today I was lucky". reflected Milivojevic as he spoke about the equaliser.
The offence for the spot kick was shirt pulling and an incident later in the match could have seen another penalty given but the scorer admits that the offence is now part of the game in the modern era.
"In this league it is normal as there is always a lot of fight for the ball and that is part of the game."
The point sees Palace in 14th place as the fight to stay clear of the relegation zone continues to be a battle and Milivojevic doesn’t see that changing any time soon.
“There are many teams within 5 or seven points of each other and it will be very tough until the end.”
