Mamadou Sakho has made the bench, having spent summer and a large part of last season recovering from injury. Sakho managed to play in pre-season for Palace against Bristol City and AFC Wimbledon but hasn't featured in a Premier League game since leaving the field of play against Leicester City in February of this year.
Starting, summer signings Gary Cahill and Jordan Ayew face their former club, with Cahill making his second senior start for Palace and Ayew earning his selection after netting the south Londoners' first goal against the Red Devils.
Fellow recent signings James McCarthy and Victor Camarasa make the bench alongside former Villan Christian Benteke. Scott Dann does not make the matchday squad, having injured his hand against Colchester.
Villa have also fielded the same lineup as their last league game, a 2-0 victory over Everton. Palace fans may want to keep an eye on John McGinn, who was named in the Scotland international squad this week.
