A fan favourite at Selhurst Park, Delaney has been a regular in the Eagles' defence since their promotion winning campaign in 2012/13, and has gone on to establish himself as a Premier League defender - 11 years after previously featuring in the top-flight for Leicester City.

The nine-time capped Republic of Ireland international was snapped up by Palace in August 2012 after he left Ipswich Town by mutual consent, and started the 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday the following day.

He quickly became a regular part of the Eagles' defensive unit, making 45 appearances and his performance in the Championship play-off final against Watford in May 2013 drew rave reviews.

Feature Interview: Delaney Reflects On Time At Palace

He went on to appear in all but three of Palace's game in the Premier League the following season, and scored his first goal in the top-flight against Liverpool in May 2014 which proved to be the catalyst for the Eagles' incredible comeback to stun the Reds in a 3-3 draw.

The experienced defender first came to prominence at Leicester where he made eight Premier League appearances under Palace legend Peter Taylor, who signed him from Cork City.

With first-team opportunities limited with the Foxes, resulting in loan spells at Stockport County, Huddersfield Town and Mansfield Town, Delaney followed Taylor to Hull City in 2002 and helped the Tigers win promotions from League Two to the Championship.

After spending the second half of the 2008/09 season at Queens Park Rangers, Delaney then moved to Ipswich, where he made more than 100 appearances for the club over three seasons.

Delaney came close to quitting football after leaving Portman Road, but his exploits for Palace have since seen him pass the 600-game mark, and is nearing a double century of games for the Eagles.
