The Eagles completed the signing of the South Korean international from Bolton Wanderers on transfer deadline day in February 2015, with the winger putting pen to paper on a contract until June 2018 for an undisclosed fee.
After being delayed by injury, he made his debut against Hull City at the end of April, one of three appearances during the latter part of the 2014/15 season for the Eagles, and after scoring his first goal for the club in a League Cup tie against Shrewsbury Town the following season, he netted a goal of the season contender against Stoke City in December 2015 to snatch a late win for his side.
Lee had plenty of prior experience in England having played for the Trotters for five years, having joined Bolton in 2009 from FC Seoul, where he made his debut at the age of 18. He went on to play 195 times at the Macron Stadium, scoring 20 goals, and had three in 26 outings in the 2014/15 season before signing for Palace.
Lee has also represented his country in two World Cups, scoring twice in the 2010 competition, when he was tipped to be a huge star in the Premier League before injuries curtailed his process, but he remains a huge star in his homeland, whom he has over 75 caps for.
