Date of birth

Playing first-team football since 16, Ciara Watling made her debut for Charlton Athletic, which included scoring a last-minute header to take the cup tie through to extra time. Moments like this played a huge part in Watling being crowned Academy Player of the Year in her debut season.

During the midfielder's time with the Addicks, Watling won various trophies, including the Premier League Southern Division.

The next career move for Watling was a move to Millwall Lionesses who were playing in Women's Super League 2 (now the Women’s Championship).

This season is the midfielder's fourth season with the Eagles, and is in the history books as the player to score the side's first goal in the Championship (against Lewes in the 2018/19 season).

Watling is Northern Ireland international having made her debut in 2015 against Georgia; the midfielder has 24 caps to her name at the start of the 2019/20 season, having represented the Irish in their qualifying campaigns for the World Cup and European Championships.
