Holloway: "We Deserved It"

Following the dramatic late win at Peterborough, Ian Holloway was full of praise for his side's effort to keep pressing for the equalising goal despite not getting on the scoresheet in the opening 80 minutes.

Late goals from Andre Moritz and Kagisho Dikgacoi secured a 2-1 win that returned the Eagles to the top of the league an ensuring their first ever win at London Road, and Ollie was delighted his players turned the game around in their favour.

"The lads are fantastic, they kept going and kept driving and it looked like it could have been one of those days," he said. "Their keeper made a couple of good saves and we missed a few comfortable chances which players don't normally do here, but what a way to do it and I think we deserved it.

"That's as good a breakway goal as I've seen, the concentration from the corner was superb and Julian did well and Zaha's run was absolutely stunning - KG did well to keep up with him as Wilf looked like he was on fast forward. To do that with the ball at his feet when someone is chasing you is sensational. It's his birthday today and I said to him at half-time "help get that party atmosphere for your 20th tonight" and you could see him at the end smiling. I thought he'd get me the winner but I'm just as happy with an assist.

"It's really exciting as the group is great. I had to put Yannick Bolasie at right back when we got the second and he was smiling from ear to ear when I took him off because they're not losing anymore. They lost four in a row at the start of the season and I think that's driving them on. I'm delighted to pick up the focus and momentum they've gathered from that. Who knows what could happen in the next 30 games.

"Peterborough did really well, I don't think I've ever seen that shape before. I knew it was coming but the lads had to get used to it as I didn't want to change too much. I'll give Darren Ferguson full credit for that, they have some wonderful players here and I'm delighted my team managed to come out with a win here."
