Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Blackburn Rovers centre back Scott Dann for an undisclosed fee.
The commanding centre back becomes the Eagles’ third permanent deadline day signing after agreeing terms on a three-and-a-half year contract.
Dann, 26, makes the switch the SE25 after spending two-and-a-half years with the Ewood Park outfit, making just over a century of appearances and captaining the side during a turbulent period in their history.
The Liverpudlian began his professional career with Walsall, and after loan spells at Danish side Koge BK, Reddich United and Hednesford Town, made his Saddlers bow in 2005.
He established himself in their side and helped Walsall to the League Two title in 2006/07 before making the step up to the Championship with Coventry City in January 2008.
After impressing during his 18 months there, Dann was snapped up by Premier League side Birmingham City for £3.5 million and made 50 top-flight appearances for the club in two seasons.
Following the Blues' relegation in 2011, he joined Rovers where he became a mainstay in the side.
Giving his first interview as a Palace Player to cpfc.co.uk, Dann said: "It's been a long day and a long transfer window with a lot of speculation, so it's nice to finally put pen to paper and get it done. I'm looking forward to the next three-and-a-half years.
"Any professional footballer will tell you that they want to be in the Premier League. It's something I've done before and really enjoyed and having the opportunity to come and play here for the next couple of years, do well and help the team - it's something I really wanted to do and I'm glad that it's all gone through."
