Parsons Joins Plymouth

17 January 2014

Crystal Palace can confirm that defender Matthew Parsons has today joined League Two side Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee.

Parsons, who came through the academy set-up at the club, made his professional debut for the Eagles in the League Cup in August 2010, coming on a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

He made his league bow the following January, playing all 90 minutes in a goalless draw with Norwich City.

Parsons spent short loan spells at Barnet and Wycombe Wanderers, but has failed to break into the first team equation at Selhurst Park, with the likes of Dean Moxey and Jonathan Parr ahead of him in the pecking order for the left back berth.

The 22-year-old will now be reunited with former Eagles teammate, Jason Banton, at Plymouth, after the winger completed his move to Home Park last week.

Crystal Palace Football Club would like to thank Matthew for his services and we wish him well in his future career.
