Three of Crystal Palace’s young starlets have been handed the chance to impress Tony Pulis in Austria this week.
The gaffer is currently working with a 26-strong squad of players in Graz during an intense week-long training camp, focused primarily on fitness, in the Austrian hills.
And development team stars Hiram Boateng, Jerome Williams and Jake Gray are all among that party working hard to catch the eye of the coaching staff ahead of the start of the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League season.
Central midfielder Boateng, 18, made 13 appearances for Gary Issott’s under-21s last season and started in the FA Cup third round tie at West Bromwich Albion, ahead of a loan move to League One outfit Crawley Town, while 19-year-old full-back Williams played 14 games at development level and spent a month-long spell with Forest Green Rovers.
Former Wycombe Wanderers youngster Gray, 18, was restricted to eight appearances for Issott’s side last term after picking up an injury early in the campaign, but seven of those came this calendar year as the versatile forward impressed on his return to action.
The trio, along with the rest of Pulis’ first-team squad, have been put through their paces during a gruelling schedule in Austria, which culminates in a friendly against GAK Graz at 6pm BST tomorrow.
