Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Senegalese international left-back Pape Souare from Lille on a three and a half year contract for an undisclosed fee, subject to a work permit being received.
The 24 year old defender is a product of Lille's academy and made 55 league appearances for them, helping them win a league and cup double in 2010/11 and featuring for the club in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League in recent seasons. He also had a season-long loan spell with Stade Reims in 2012/13.
Pape has won five caps for Senegal, including two in this month's Africa Cup of Nations competition in Equatorial Guinea. He also featured for his country's under-23 side in the 2012 Olympics.
The player came over direct from the Africa Cup of Nations tournament to complete the move and sign the paperwork, before returning home, but will be back to start training with his new club early this week.
A video interview will be available to watch with Pape on our You Tube channel later in the week.
