Defender Alex Wynter has joined Colchester United from Crystal Palace on a permanent deal.
The defender had spent the early part of this season on loan at Portsmouth but after that loan spell was cut short, he has now joined the U's in League One.
Wynter, 21, had progressed through the Eagles' academy and went on to make his first-team bow in January 2010 in an FA Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday, but made just one more appearance for the Eagles which came in last season's League Cup loss to Bristol City.
He spent time on loan at Eastbourne Borough and Sutton United before joining Colchester on loan in March 2014, where he made six appearances and scored once.
His time at Portsmouth saw him feature 10 times for Pompey before his initial season-long loan was ended earlier this week.
The club wish Alex all the best in the future and thank him for his time spent here in the early years of his career since joining the club as a schoolboy.
