12 June 2015

Crystal Palace Football Club are pleased to announce an additional fixture to their pre-season programme with the squad travelling to Germany in July.

The match, against FC Union Berlin, will take place in the Stadium of Union Berlin on Saturday, the 18th of July 2015 at 2.00pm local time (1pm BST).

This game has been put into the pre-season schedule just prior to the trip to south Africa for the Cape Town Cup.

CPFC Chief Executive Phil Alexander is delighted to be adding this game to the club's pre-season programme. "We are looking forward to going over to Germany during an important time of our pre-season and it will be another stage for both clubs as the new season gets nearer for both of us and we would like to thank FC Union Berlin for all their help in the arranging of this match for us."

"Crystal Palace is a traditional English club and belongs already for two years to the top 12 teams of the Premier League, one of the best leagues in the world. A week before it gets really serious for us concerning the start into the new season, this match will demand a great deal of our boys. I am sure that we can look forward to an exciting duel", said Nico Schaefer, commercial and organisational manager of the first team Division of 1. FC Union Berlin.
"We are very proud that the IFA as a partner of FC Union Berlin will be hosting this match and we look forward to welcoming Crystal Palace FC, a renowned international opponent, who I am sure will enjoy playing in this beautiful stadium", said IFA Director Jens Heithecker.
