Jonny Williams Heads To Ipswich Town

31 August 2016

Palace midfielder Jonny Williams has returned to Ipswich Town on loan on transfer deadline day, signing for the Tractor Boys until 30th June 2017.

It is the fourth time that Williams has signed a deal with the Suffolk club, having previously made three separate moves to Portman Road where he has amassed a total of 20 appearances across the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons where he scored twice, and he also spent last term on loan at Nottingham Forest and MK Dons.

22-year-old Williams has played 69 times for the Eagles after graduating through their academy, and had won 17 Welsh caps including four during Euro 2016 where he helped his country reach the semi-finals.

He was omitted from Chris Coleman’s latest squad to play Moldova next week because of an injury sustained in pre-season, however should he shake that off he could be featuring for Mick McCarthy’s men when they face Reading a week on Friday.
