Adebayor Joins The Eagles

26 January 2016

Crystal Palace are delighted to announce the signing of striker Emmanuel Adebayor until the end of the season.

A full exclusive interview with Emmanuel will be available to watch at this evening.

The 31-year-old boasts Premier League experience having previously played for Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur since arriving in England back in 2006, and has also been at Metz, Monaco and Real Madrid.

The Togo international represented his national team at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, in what was the country's debut at the competition, and is the 25th highest scorer in Premier League history with 94 goals to his name.

Adebayor’s professional career began at French side Metz and after two years he made his debut for the club and scoring regularly in Ligue 2, earning himself a move to Monaco whom he played for nine times in their run to the 2004 UEFA Champions League final.

That prompted Arsenal to bring him to the Premier League the following year and he went on to score 62 times in 146 games over four seasons, including 24 in the 2007/08 Premier League season before Manchester City paid £25 million for his services in July 2009, but 18 months later he joined Real Madrid on loan and helped Jose Mourinho’s side win the Copa Del Rey in 2010/11.

He then returned to London with Tottenham Hotspur where he hit 41 goals in 106 appearances in four years at White Hart Lane before he was released from his Spurs contract in September 2015, but will now link up with Alan Pardew’s side for the next five months.

He will wear the number 25 shirt at Palace.
