The under 23s recorded a convincing 6-0 victory on Tuesday evening at Tooting & Mitcham as Richard Shaw’s side produced an excellent night’s work in front of manager Frank de Boer.
The deadlock was broken as Nya Kirby got on the end of a pass from Chung yong Lee and took the opportunity to finish past the goalkeeper from a tight angle.
That 34th minute effort was all that separated the two sides at the break but it was a different story in the second half.
Jonny Williams came on as one of the second half substitutes and was soon on the scoresheet. He got on the end of a ball from Aaron Wan-Bissaka and finished the move with a left foot shot firing the ball into the corner of the net.
On 52 minutes the advantage was increased as Hiram Boateng’s cross was met by Tyler Brown and he made no mistake firing past the home goalkeeper as the visitors were now dominating proceedings.
After finding the net with his own chance Williams was soon being the provider as a fine run saw him beat three men before finding Freddie Ladapo, who made no mistake finishing off the chance with a finish from close range.
Following a number of changes from the bench the crowd were treated to the best goal of the night as Jordon Mutch fired home a half volley from 25 yards out, giving the goalkeeper no chance as the ball ended up in the roof of the net.
The victory margin was complete with a late goal from Andre Coker as he finished off his chance after James Daly had done well to beat his man and get the ball across for the opportunity to score the final goal of the night.
