After all the injury problems that Roy Hodgson has suffered this season he was pleased at his press conference to report that he had a big squad taking part in training at Copers Cope on Thursday morning.
Hodgson revealed that Connor Wickham returned to the first team group having been out since rupturing his cruciate against Swansea City in November 2016. He has made his comeback for the Under 23s earlier this season although suffered a muscle injury soon after but he has now been able to return to the full session on Thursday.
The only players missing were Jason Puncheon, Bakary Sako and Scott Dann who all have long term injuries.
As well as Wickham, Hodgson also confirmed that defender Jeffrey Schlupp is also back in training after injury and played part of the midweek Under 23 game against Birmingham City.
