Sakho Back For West Ham Match

29 January 2018

Roy Hodgson was able to reveal better news from the treatment room ahead of Tuesday’s match against West Ham United as he spoke at his pre match press conference about the number of players returning from injury.

“We found ourselves in a poor situation a week or two ago but Mamadou Sakho and Joel Ward have both recovered which is a big boost for us. Yohan Cabaye, who I thought was going to be out for a long period after his ankle injury at Arsenal, has also recovered so our injury list is confined to those that everyone knows about where we have players who will not be back for any time in the near future."

So Scott Dann, Jason Puncheon, Jeffrey Schlupp, Connor Wickham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are those long term casualties but Hodgson was at least able to give a more positive update on injuries than he has for a number of weeks.
