Speroni Extends Eagles Stay

4 July 2018

Julian Speroni has extended his 14-year stay with Crystal Palace by signing a one-year contract extension.

The veteran shot-stopper, who has been named the club’s Player of the Year a record four times and played more games as a goalkeeper in Eagles history, will stretch his long association to the club to a decade-and-a-half since arriving at Selhurst Park from Dundee in 2004.

Since then, he has become the fourth-highest appearance maker in the club’s history with 403 to his name, including 13 last season as he battled with Wayne Hennessey for the number one spot.

Speaking about his joy at signing his new deal, the 39-year-old said: “I’ve been here so long at Crystal Palace that it’s my home, so I’m really pleased.

“It’s an honour and a pleasure for me to play in front of our fans, the love and support they’ve shown me over all these years has been magnificent and I just can’t thank them enough."
