Crystal Palace will take on League One side Oxford United in a pre-season friendly at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday 21st July.
The game, which will be a 3pm kick-off, will be the first time the sides have clashed since Palace were invited to open the new stadium in 2001, which ended in a 1-1 draw and the hosts winning the subsequent penalty shootout. Meanwhile, Palace haven’t played a competitive game in Oxford since Boxing Day 1998 when they ran out 3-1 victors at the Manor Ground in a Division One fixture.
It is the Eagles’ second first-team friendly to be announced this summer, with Roy Hodgson’s team travelling to Reading the following week as they build towards the 2018/19 Premier League campaign.
Oxford finished 16th in League One last season, after Karl Robinson’s appointment in March saw them win three of their last five games to finish six points clear of the relegation zone.
Ticket details will be announced in the coming days.
