Roy Hodgson has provided an update about his squad availability ahead of Sunday's visit of north London rivals Arsenal to Selhurst Park.
The manager confirmed that Max Meyer and Alexander Sørloth are both available for selection, following their absence for the trip to Everton last weekend.
Hodgson also confirmed that Christian Benteke and Joel Ward are making good progress, but will not feature versus Arsenal.
With regards to Connor Wickham, who made his first Premier League appearance since November 2016 against Everton last Sunday, he said: “Connor is doing OK. Naturally we are a little bit reticent. It’s right from his side and our side that we are careful with him. But to be honest, he’s come through every training session, so there’s no reason for me to have any fears about him.”
Hodgson also said that Jonny Williams will train tomorrow, and Scott Dann and Pape Souare featured for the Under 23s last Monday and are making good progress with their fitness levels.
Discussing attacking options, Hodgson made it clear that his side are well stocked and more than covered for choices going forward.
“We’re interested really in working hard with the forwards we have. We have Connor, we have Alex Sørloth, of course there’s Wilf (Zaha) and there’s Jordan Ayew and there’s Sullay Kaikai. Now, there’s five players all of whom are capable of playing in forward positions and that’s not counting Andros (Townsend) who did it well at Everton. So we have players already in our group that we’re working with to try and get those goals that we need."
