Gemma Bryan spoke with Palace TV ahead of Palace Ladies' crucial clash with Lewes Women this evening, discussing her return to the Eagles alongside captain Freya Holdaway and manager Dean Davenport.
Having joined Charlton Athletic Women last summer, Bryan returned given her first chance as Palace were awarded promotion to the FA Women's Championship.
"Initially," she explained, "Crystal Palace weren't offered a place in the Championship and I wanted to play at this level. So I looked at the options in the summer and felt at the time that Charlton was the best option for me.
"And then a couple of weeks after I signed, Crystal Palace were granted a place in the Championship. Obviously everybody knows how I feel, how passionate I am about this club so it didn't feel quite right. It feels normal to be back home now."
"She lives and breathes Palace," supported Ladies' captain Holdaway. "She loves it. She's everything that the Palace ethos is. She works hard regardless of however she's playing that day she'll still put 100% effort in."
Currently, Bryan and Holdaway's attention will be firmly focussed on Thursday's half-term clash. The game sees 9th face 10th in the Women's Championship and will likely prove significant in the outcome of the Ladies' season.
