A Crystal Palace side is taking part in a winter tournament in Israel, beginning today (Thursday 24 January), consisting of six Under-19 teams.
The competition is being held at Maccabi Tel Aviv FC between 24-26 January and will see S.B.V. Excelsior Rotterdam, Maccabi Haifa, Beitar Jerusalem, Hapoel Beer Sheva, Crystal Palace and hosts Maccabi Tel Aviv FC go head to head over the course of three days.
It is the second edition of the tournament and will be held at PenguinPickUp Training Ground in Kiryat Shalom.
The competition will be played in a league format consisting of all six teams. The games will be 30 minutes each way and every team will play each other once. After every side has faced the other, the team with the most points will be crowned champions.
Last season’s event was won by the Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv U19 side in a tournament that featured Bayer Leverkusen, Red Star Paris, Maccabi Haifa, Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Rishon Le’Zion.
