Pre-Match Round-up: Grimsby Town

5 January 2019

Crystal Palace are set to take on League Two side Grimsby Town this afternoon in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup and, whether you're heading to the match or not, we've got all of the week's content below for you in preparation of the match.

Starting us off for this fixture is Palace manager Roy Hodgson's comments. He spoke in his pre-match press conference - which you can watch here - about Palace's remarkable fitness, loosely suggested how his side are likely to line up and reflected on a half-season packed with penalties

Ex-Grimsby Town and Crystal Palace man Danny Butterfield spent time talking with Palace TV recently and, in this article, he discusses some of the high points of his career in red and blue. To see the full interview, just click on the video below.

Next up, we've got two pieces you'll want to take on board before your pre-match meet-ups today, with the Palace Preview providing your essential warm-up to the game and all you need to know about Grimsby Town included here.

In the programme today, chairman Steve Parish reflects on the FA Cup over the course of Palace's history and also welcomes fans into the New Year. You can see what he has to say by clicking here and, if you want to read everything else included in the official programme, buy your online copy and enjoy a brief overview here.

The Eagles are lucky enough to have had a fully fit squad training this week, which Roy Hodgson has praised in the article above. If you want to see how the lads have been preparing, check out the video below.

Just yesterday, Palace saw three big announcements made about three members of the squad departing. While Palace icon Jason Puncheon heads to Huddersfield Town for a half-season long loan move, Jordon Mutch and Jonny Williams have left the club.

One arrival to the club, however, has been former Eagle Gemma Bryan, who has re-signed for Palace Ladies after spending half a year with Charlton Athletic Women.

Finally, there have been two pieces of good news for Starman Andros Townsend this week, as the Palace man has not only has been voted by Palace fans to receive December's ManBetX Player of the Month award, but also nominated twice for Premier League Goal of the Month.
