In his pre-match press conference today, Palace manager Roy Hodgson provided an injury update on the squad, giving particularly in-depth information on centreback Mamadou Sakho.
Sakho left the field of play during the Eagles' 4-1 victory over Leicester City, being replaced by Scott Dann as the game drew to a close.
Since then, he underwent a successful operation.
Hodgson elaborated on his situation, saying: "He’s recovering from the operation. It’s a weekly thing but we hope of course that he’ll recover. He's working very hard to recover but he only had the operation just over a week ago. It's going to take a while before we see him back even in rehabilitation and then we'll see how many weeks are left in the season.
"But he is adamant that he doesn't want to write off the season. He will do his level best but whether the injury will prevent that, we’ll have to wait and see."
