Since her arrival in South London in August 2024, Weerden has been an integral part of Palace’s attack, winning both the Player and Fan’s Player of the Season awards after a strong debut campaign in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Her second season at Palace was even better though, as she helped the Eagles immediately return to the top-flight. Weerden recorded 10 assists - a WSL2 record - and was subsequently voted into the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 Team of the Season after recording more goal contributions than any other player (17).
Manager Jo Potter said: “Ashleigh was absolutely crucial to our success last season and proved that she was one of the best players in the division. We are delighted that she has signed a new deal here.”
After signing her new deal, Weerden said: “I’m happy to extend at this club. I feel comfortable and confident here thanks to the coach and my teammates.
“We had a great season, and now we’re back in the WSL. I’m excited for what this season will bring!”
