The finale: Standing on the Edge of Greatness

Everything has led to this.

After defying the odds to beat Brighton on their own turf, Palace head to a sun-drenched Wembley with promotion to the promised land of the Premier League on the line.

But after a barren run of just one win in 10 games, the Eagles enter the Championship Play-Off Final as underdogs against Watford.

The excitement is building, the pressure is mounting – and Ollie and his boys are ready for the biggest game of their lives.

From the brink of extinction to Wembley, the extraordinary journey of CPFC 2010 reaches its conclusion tonight.

The story behind When Eagles Dare

Whether you’ve already binged – and re-binged – When Eagles Dare or are yet to see it, the five-part series offers a unique look inside one of the most remarkable periods in Palace history.

Go behind the scenes of the fight to save the club, the formation of the CPFC 2010 consortium, Dougie Freedman’s team and Ian Holloway’s promotion-winning side, culminating in that unforgettable day at Wembley.

Exclusive interviews with the people who were there – including Chairman Steve Parish, Freedman, Holloway, Wilfried Zaha, Damien Delaney, Yannick Bolasie, Jonny Williams and Mile Jedinak – sit alongside previously unseen footage from behind the scenes.

It is a story of Palace on and off the pitch, told by the people who lived it.

As Five Year Plan wrote: “This documentary is a love letter. Not just to the Palace team of 2012/2013, but to the people and the moments that make these stories so compelling.”
