Gallery: Palace at Pride in London

Last Saturday, the UK's largest Pride event took place on the streets of the capital, with Crystal Palace part of the estimated 35,000 marchers, taking a float on the route from Hyde Park Corner in Westminster through to Whitehall, just outside Big Ben.

The Palace group included members from the club’s official LGBTQIA+ supporters group – Proud and Palace, staff members, the Women of SE25 group and club cheerleaders, the Crystals.

Dana Tohme – CPFC Inclusion and Wellbeing Officer, said: "Community and belonging are at the heart of what we stand for as a Club. Proud and Palace has been a supporters' group for around 12 years now, giving LGBTQ+ fans a space to connect with each other over their shared love of Palace.

"We were proud to have our employees and supporters walking in the parade and celebrating Pride together. It was a beautiful, happy day that reminded us exactly what that belonging looks like."

More than one million people attended the celebrations in total this year, which Palace have regularly taken part in.

Proud and Palace committee member, Ian Challand, added: "Pride in London was a great experience this year with the full support of the club in organising and arranging our presence at the parade.

"Pride has always been equal parts protest and celebration, and the mood was definitely celebratory as we marched accompanied by the Crystals and a carefully curated playlist, beginning with Glad All Over, of course!

"It means a lot to Proud and Palace to have the support of our allies, and it was a really great occasion to see the representation and support from the club.

"We are always keen to hear from people who may be interested in joining our group or allies who want to support us, and encourage anyone to get in touch with us at any point during the season or in advance of next year's parade!"

From AB, a Proud and Palace member: "Being an ally is about showing up, celebrating people for who they are and helping create a real sense of belonging. That's why Pride means so much to me.

"As an ally member of Proud and Palace, I was proud to parade alongside our LGBTQ+ supporters and for us all to represent our club.

"The day was full of joy, positivity and community spirit. Seeing people come together, celebrate who they are and support one another was truly inspiring.

"And it was a great reminder of how powerful it is when everyone feels welcome, valued and included.

"I’m proud to be an ally, proud to be part of P&P, and proud to support a club that celebrates diversity, inclusion and belonging both in and off the pitch."
