Sage: We apologise to the fans
Pierre Sage apologised to the Crystal Palace supporters after Sunday's defeat at Brighton.
The Eagles were well beaten at the Amex stadium, conceding three goals in the opening ten minutes and ultimately losing 5-0.
In his assessment of a bruising day, Sage said: "I'm really frustrated because we didn't compete, we didn't start the game well.
"We took three goals in nine minutes, it's not normal in this kind of game.
"That's why I have to prepare the team better, give them more solutions and give the confidence and the required aggression.
"I'm responsible for the whole team. When the team is losing it's my fault.
"We spoke about the history of this derby and we didn't do the job in a good way. I think we just have to apologise to the fans because they deserve so much better than we gave them today.
"I'm really sorry for that, but I want to show them that we are able to come back and to show our real face [in the next game] because today it was not us."
