Team News: Three changes for Palace at Besiktas
Jean-Philippe Mateta makes his first start since the opening day of the season against Beşiktaş, one of three changes to the Crystal Palace starting XI.
The Eagles will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of a heavy defeat last time out with victory in Istanbul, in what is our second-ever UEFA Europa League trip.
Mateta replaces Jørgen Strand Larsen in the side which began our last Premier League game, starting for the first time since the opening-day loss at Everton.
Dwight McNeil is also back in the starting XI for the first time since our trip to Merseyside, replacing the injured Quinten Timber – and Axel Disasi replaces Honest Ahanor in defence.
Tonight also marks Daichi Kamada's 100th Palace appearance – the Japan international likely to be at the heart of midfield.
For Beşiktaş, it's eight changes, with only three players who started against Trabzonspor in a 2-0 defeat on Monday in the starting XI: Alexander Nübel, Fabio Miretti and former Premier League forward Leandro Trossard.
That means Oh Hyeon-Gyu – who scored a brace and provided an assist in a 3-2 win over Hoffenheim last week – starts up top, with Dušan Vlahović, who has scored six times in six league appearances this season, on the bench.
Palace will be the first English side to face Beşiktaş competitively since 2019, when Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated the Turkish side both home and away.
