Tickets on sale: Palace target EFL Trophy history on Tuesday at Newport

Tickets are on sale for Crystal Palace Under-21s’ decisive EFL Trophy trip to Newport County on Tuesday, 3rd November (KO: 19:00 GMT), as the Young Eagles chase a place in the knockout stages for the first time in Academy history.
Now known as the Jersey Mike’s Trophy, the competition sees Darren Powell’s side face League One and League Two opposition. Palace are grouped with Swindon Town, Plymouth Argyle and Newport, whom they meet in their final fixture.
The Young Eagles opened with a 2-1 win over Swindon Town, thanks to goals from Caleb Kporha and Seb Williams, before falling to defeat at Plymouth Argyle.
Newport – who compete in League Two – beat Swindon 2-0 before drawing 2-2 with Plymouth and losing 5-4 on penalties. Their nine-match unbeaten run also ended with a narrow defeat at Cheltenham Town last weekend.
The top two teams in each group reach the round of 32, with matches level after 90 minutes decided by penalties for a bonus point.
Palace sit third on three points, behind Newport on four and Plymouth on five, and must win to keep their qualification hopes alive. Swindon are bottom without a point and unable to qualify, leaving the Young Eagles with everything to play for against the Exiles.
Victory would take Palace beyond their previous best return of three points in the competition, which they have contested since 2021/22 without progressing beyond the group stage.
Now, Powell's side have the chance to make history and set a new club record.
