Khalaili's first interview: I’m ready for the Premier League

The new signing joins from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise and will add further European experience to the squad, having played in the Champions League for his former team last season.

Khalaili, who has also won 16 caps at international level, has already set his sights on further success for the Eagles in 2026/27, and beyond.

Trophies are a target for the 21-year-old, who also revealed he has been a long-term admirer of Palace.

“I have followed the Premier League for a long time,” he told Palace TV. “It’s a new challenge for me.

“And Crystal Palace I like, because I have followed them for a long time.

“They have deserved to win three trophies and I want to do more. It’s not enough to win three trophies.

“We want to do more as we can and I’m here to help the team.”

Khalaili was known as one of the Belgian top-flight’s most exciting young prospects last term.

Now he is ready to take the next step up in his career, and prove himself at Premier League level.

“Of course, it is the best league in the world,” he added. “It’s a new challenge. I love these new challenges – and I’m ready.

“I’m strong, I’m fast. I like to dribble. But I also like to defend. I like to help the team and to show the fans my quality.”
