WHAT A WIN!!!!

The Eagles earn all three points - a first home PL win of the season, and a first-ever against Forest in this particular competition!

Almost a fourth as his looping header drifts narrowly wide of Sels' far post.

... as Palace hunt a fourth goal here.

Mitchell's low cross in is cleared behind for a corner. He's had an excellent game, again!

Canvot is forced to make an important header in front of his own goalmouth, before Timber boots it away from Wood.

Stout defending once more.

In truth - as you can probably see on our Match Centre momentum chart - the attacking momentum is with Forest, but they're not really carving much out - touch wood!

Palace defending really stoutly now - steel adding to their earlier ruthlessness in front of goal.

Wood is unmarked six yards out and heads goalwards, but Benitez is in the right place at the right time again to palm it away!

The 'keeper has had some game for Palace!

... in the game, after an absolutely frantic first 70 minutes.

Forest are probing, but Palace holding firm.

The Eagles have had a much-improved second-half as Pino tries a cheeky dink towards Strand Larsen - cut out - before Khalaili's cross is narrowly missed by the Norwegian.

It's end-to-end here though. The next goal's an important one!

His rising near-post finish never really threatens the goal in truth.

But a reminder that Forest are still well in this - Palace have been much more efficient in front of goal with their chances.

Pino heads the ball across goal and Strand Larsen is denied by Sels from close range!

It's an excellent save - but the offside flag goes up anyhow.

PALACE TWO TO THE GOOD!

It's another scrappy one, but who cares?!

Timber and Pino exchange passses. Timber's through ball is cut out by Schlager but it trickles towards Strand Larsen, whose effort is saved by Sels...

It comes out to Pino and he's able to guide it past the defender on the line – get in there!

Lerma wins one header from a free-kick... it loops into the air, and he wins a second!

The ball is dropping... just beneath the bar, and Sels turns it over!

Then, I think it's Pino who drills in a flat cross, Lerma wins the header... and Sels is forced to plunge low to keep it out!

This has been some game of football so far.

Forest admittedly on top in the early stages of the second-half.

Williams lifts the ball over the top and the Forest midfielder sidefoots wide when he probably should have done better.

Forest somehow denied an equaliser early in the second-half as Gibbs-White heads back across goal, it deflects off Canvot, and the combination of the post and Benítez's outstretched hand keeps it out.

This has not been a match light on chances, that's for sure!

... has gone down as an Anan Khalaili effort.

It appears that Lerma's header actually struck the defender's outstretched boot as he leapt high, and deflected in from close range!

Either way, Palace in the lead is the headline!

A horror moment from Ndoye. Forest's long-throw is half-cleared, Schlager slams it back in, it reaches Ndoye unmarked inside the box... and he sidefoots over when he probably should have scored.

An incredible end to an extremely entertaining first-half in SE25.

COME ONNNNNN!

It's a floated corner from the right from Wharton, and Lerma escapes Gibbs-White before squeezing a header between Sels' legs on the line!

There's a brief VAR check again, but the goal is quickly awarded.

What a turnaround!

Palace well on top in the closing stages of the half as the full-back lines up a dipping volley which Sels has to tip over the bar at full stretch!

Khalaili crosses and Murillo catches him on the follow-through... Selhurst rises in protest, but referee Peter Bankes waves the appeal away.

PALACE ARE LEVEL! GET IN THERE!

It's a really lovely one-touch move around the box involving Wharton, Timber, Pino and Strand Larsen - short, sharp, incisive passes and flicks.

It culminates in Strand Larsen side-footing towards Timber, who backheels into the path of Kamada... he stabs it past the advancing Sels and wheels away in delight!

After a brief VAR check, Palace are confirmed to be level!

Another good opportunity for the Forest man. He should do better from that position.

Walter Benítez take a bow!!! Utterly phenomenal stop.

Gibbs-White lines one up from 30 yards out and it loops up over Benítez, who dives for it... it crashes off the bar.

Liam Delap has an empty goal at his mercy, it appears - but up springs Benítez to take the full whack of a blasted half-volley, six yards out, on his chest.

How good is that save - and how important could it prove?! Many of the fans around me rise to show their appreciation for that stop.

... from deep, slaloming past a couple of challenges – but Murillo crowds him out.

You sense Palace could just do with that one spark to rediscover their early attacking play in this game.

Selhurst Park responds with a cry of "Eagles, Eagles!"

Gibbs-White's flat cross finds the full-back – making a run oh-so-familiar to Eagles fans - in space on the overlap.

He side-foots an effort thankfully wide of the far post.

... an important clearing header at the far post, after Gibbs-White looked to have stolen a march.

After playing arguably the better football in the first 15 minutes, a rocky spell in the game for the Eagles - but still just one goal in it.

The visitors should be two ahead.

Gibbs-White nicks it off Canvot and delivers deep towards Ndoye - free header at the far post. He nods towards the top corner, and our Argentine in goal makes a fantastic stop to tip it over the bar.

From the subsequent corner, Gibbs-White is unmarked at the far post... and only a block on the line prevents Diomande from slamming home his pull-back.

McAtee slams it into the wall.

Forest then win a corner, and Khalaili makes an important block in front of goal.

Palace can't clear their lines and Timber is forced to concede a foul 30 yards out. Another Forest free-kick.

Gibbs-White wins a 50/50 in the final third and prods it towards Delap, who manages to touch it beyond Lerma. His touch is taking him away from goal, so it's a yellow for the Colombian after he makes contact.

Free-kick to Forest, dead central position, 30 yards or so out...

It's a well-worked break from Palace, started by some typically tireless hassling from Timber, who sprays out to Kamada.

The Japan international pulls out to the right and plays a neat pass back into the 'D' - it meets the Dutchman, who's continued his run, but his left-footed effort lacks the control to truly threaten the goal.

Promising signs after the early concession.

Ohhh!

It's a wonderful save from Sels for Forest, as Khalaili's excellent first-time ball in is met on the gallop by Strand Larsen, who does well to keep his effort down from the bouncing cross.

The Forest keeper reacts sharply and palms away, before Strand Larsen's follow-up is blocked by a sprawling defender.

... as Forest launch a long throw in, and Benítez needs two bites at it to gather under pressure from Murillo.

A bit of early bite in this one already, I'd suggest.

An early blow for Palace.

Ndoye races clear down the left-hand side and has time and space to place a finish beyond the diving Benítez.

Plenty of time left in this one...

Good start from Palace as the Eagles' intensity allows Kamada to win the ball high and flash it across goal.

It almost reaches JSL in the six-yard box, but he can't quite make contact, and Forest scramble clear.

Palace led out by Adam Wharton – to a rocking atmosphere and a rousing rendition of Glad All Over!

Palace will attack the Holmesdale in this first-half.

It's humming with anticipation inside Selhurst today – it's a big one!

The two teams are now standing in the tunnel, awaiting kick-off...

With Premier League football now firmly back on the agenda, Tyrick Mitchell is looking to pick up where he left off in front of goal.

The Eagles’ Temporal Player of the Month for September has excelled in the early weeks of the 2026/27 campaign, scoring twice in a 3-2 win at Fulham and even hitting the back of the net at Leeds United – what would have been the winner, were it not for a VAR review.

“Attacking-wise it's a bit more free-flowing,” Mitchell said of his role in the Palace system. “Sometimes I find myself in positions where normally I wouldn't.

“I think that's a big difference and I'm able to get a few more shots off and get in goalscoring positions, so I think it's been decent.

“It was always in my head throughout the last couple of seasons. I always wanted to contribute on the other side because I felt like, personally, my one-on-one defending, my defending actions are very good.

“I always knew I had more to help the team. My managers have said that I need to get more goals. I need to contribute a bit more, so I've always been thinking about it and always trying to work on it."
