The Wales international will wear the No. 23 shirt for the new campaign, vacated earlier this week by defender Jaydee Canvot.
Johnson immediately assumed the No. 11 shirt following his switch to South London from Tottenham Hotspur in January, but will be wearing a fresh number under new Manager Pierre Sage.
Previous occupants of Palace’s No. 23 shirt include former captains Carl Fletcher and Hayden Mullins, as well as – among others – Conor Gallagher, José Fonte and Michy Batshuayi.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that new Palace signing Óscar Mingueza would wear the No. 30 shirt, and Canvot had traded in his number for the No. 6 last worn by England’s Marc Guéhi.
A full list of 2026/27 squad numbers will be released in due course.
