He was an Eagle once before – and now, Ben Chilwell is back in Crystal Palace colours.
The England international returns to South London after a decorated career that has seen him lift almost every major honour available to him.
And, of course, he already has a special place in Palace history after helping the Eagles win their first major trophy – the FA Cup.
Let's take a look back at Ben Chilwell's journey – and his first spell at Palace – in pictures...
After completing his Deadline Day loan move from Chelsea, Chilwell made his Palace debut on a chilly night in Doncaster.
The FA Cup fourth-round tie provided the perfect introduction, as the Eagles beat the hosts 2-0 and kept a clean sheet to book their place in the next round.
Having not played since September, Chilwell showed little sign of ring-rust, helping Palace raise the tempo after half-time and offering glimpses of his quality with a pair of wonderful cross-field passes.
His fourth Palace appearance brought his first start – and what a night to do it.
Chilwell completed the full 90 minutes as the Eagles swept aside 10-man Millwall 3-1 at Selhurst Park, booking their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
It was his first competitive start since March 2024.
"It was great to be back," Chilwell said afterwards. "A few of the boys asked me how long it had been after the game, and I said roughly about a year! It was great to be out there – I felt fit, I felt good."
And what followed was a Wembley-bound run to remember.
Chilwell went on to feature in Palace's 3-0 semi-final victory over Aston Villa, helping Oliver Glasner's side book their place in the showpiece at Wembley.
He was an unused substitute as Ebere Eze's goal secured a historic 1-0 victory over Manchester City – but he was certainly not on the sidelines when it came to the celebrations.
For Chilwell, lifting the FA Cup completed his collection of English football's major honours, having already won the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
"With this group, such a top group of boys, the manager, all the staff are all amazing," he said at the time. "To win it with this group was amazing and then obviously the celebrations after with everyone were special as well. It was a brilliant night."
Just 72 hours later came another special moment.
Chilwell made his first Premier League start for Palace in the final home game of the season – and marked it with his first goal for the club.
His free-kick took a significant deflection off the Wolves wall before finding the bottom corner, adding to a six-goal thriller as Selhurst Park celebrated its FA Cup heroes.
"It went in! There's no pictures in the scorebook, so yeah, I'll take it. A goal's a goal!"
There was far more to the moment than the goal itself, though. It was Chilwell's first since the passing of his father, while also coming on his first Premier League start in several years.
"There were a lot of different emotions with the goal," he said.
Despite spending only a few months in South London, Chilwell had quickly fallen for Palace – and made no secret of how much he had enjoyed his time with the Eagles.
"I've loved it here. It's such a good club. I knew and I'd heard from a few of the boys I knew here, and I spoke to Trev [Trevoh Chalobah] and he said what a great club it was."
"Coming here and from day one, all the boys, all the staff, the fans, the fans at Wembley... I've loved it."
Then came a new chapter in France, as Chilwell joined Strasbourg. But leaving South London didn't mean leaving Palace behind.
When Strasbourg faced the Eagles in the league phase of the UEFA Conference League last season, Chilwell admitted it was "unreal" to be reunited with his former teammates – and revealed that he had remained in close contact with the dressing room.
"I still keep in contact with the boys. Whenever Palace are on TV, I always make sure I'm watching, always looking afterwards to see what the scores are – because I loved my time at Palace."
"It was such a good time in my life. You know, the club, the staff, the players, the fans, the manager... everything about it was brilliant."
And now, after more than a year away, Ben Chilwell is back.
This time, he's here to stay.
