Timber on Palace’s search for consistency
Quinten Timber believes Crystal Palace have shown promising signs during recent matches – but must find consistency in their performances across full 90 minutes.

The industrious midfielder – speaking last week to Premier League Productions, ahead of Palace’s matches against Beșiktaș and Newcastle United, which he missed through injury – does not feel his new team are too far off rediscovering that winning feeling.
After making his debut against Fulham – whom Palace face in the Carabao Cup fourth round at 19:45 GMT, albeit with Timber still an injury doubt tonight – the Netherlands international has made an impressive start to life in South London since joining last month.
And with the busy run of games going on, and Palace going in search of a first win in five matches tonight – against a Fulham side they have already beaten at Craven Cottage earlier this season – Timber hopes his team have the ability to build and battle back to form.
“I think the good thing is we play every three days,” Timber said last week. “We have to move on. You can be negative, but for us, it's like: ‘okay, we have to get better.’
“It cannot happen again and there's a game again where we have to perform, so we have to move on. We have to learn from what happened. We have to watch the clips back, what we still have to do. We learn from it and get better and that's the only thing we can do.
“We showed in the other games that we can start well or come back as a team. For example, against Nottingham [Forest], we started well, then there was a period of 20 minutes that they played better, but then after the 20 minutes, we played so well.
“The mentality is there in the team. We just have to find a way to show that every game, every minute, not just for 30 or 45 minutes, but for 90 minutes, especially in the Premier League.
“It's intense and tough and every week is going to be tough. There's no time to be off in the game.”
It's just special to be here. I'm happy to be here

Timber also spoke of his enjoyment of life at Palace so far, having made a last-minute move from Marseille on transfer deadline day last month.
He admitted: “It was intense, especially the last week because I also played a game on Sunday with Marseille! There was so much going on.
“I think the day after, everything happened and I just put my faith in God and also my agents who worked really hard. It's football, at the end of the day you go to London, you sign everything and then a few days later you play against Fulham, the first game, so everything goes so quick.
“It's just special to be here. I'm happy to be here. There are amazing people at the club as well and the fans have been really welcoming to me.
“I'm really happy to be here and hopefully I can show it on the pitch as well.”
