We're straight back into Premier League action this weekend, facing Leeds United away at Elland Road this Sunday – and it has given us plenty of Fantasy Premier League food for thought!
This season, we have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.
Scout will be using their expertise to provide advice and gameweek tips which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues.
Remember that the Gameweek 5 deadline is another early one tonight (Friday, 18th September) at 18:30 BST – so don’t miss the boat!
Despite the result, there were some strong FPL performances from Palace players in Gameweek 4 with Anan Khalaili (£5.0m) and Jørgen Strand Larsen (£6.0m) both on the scoresheet and Daichi Kamada (£5.0m) producing a pair of assists.
Strand Larsen, who had three shots and received two bonus points, and Kamada picked up eight FPL points apiece for their efforts, while Khalaili collected seven.
Quinten Timber (£5.0m) made his home debut in Gameweek 4. The midfielder led the way for Defensive Contributions (blocks, tackles, clearances, interceptions and ball recoveries), with 16. The Dutchman also had two shots on his way to a four-point return.
Chris Richards (£5.0m) also returned Defensive Contribution points in Gameweek 4. This was the second time he has met the threshold this season. The defender returned 13 defensive contributions in Gameweek 4. Honest Ahanor (£4.5m) also clinched the extra two points with 11 defensive contributions.
Goalkeeper Walter Benítez (£4.5m) made his first start of the season in the absence of Dean Henderson (£5.0m). The budget-friendly defender made three saves to earn an additional save point in FPL.
Khalaili scored his first Premier League goal in Gameweek 4 and is one of only 15 defenders to have scored in the league this season.
No defender in Gameweek 4 had more shots than Khalaili’s four, and his attacking threat was intensified with four crosses and a chance created against Ipswich.
Since his first start in Gameweek 2 only one defender in FPL has had more than his seven shots, only two have had more big chances than his two and he features in the top 10 for crosses delivered (nine) in that time.
However, Khalaili also has excellent underlying defensive numbers. He has returned 29 defensive contributions since Gameweek 2, picking up the additional two Defensive Contribution points in two of those three matches. Only one defender in the game has returned more.
Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross (£5.6m) was the top scoring player in Gameweek 4. Gross registered 17-points thanks to a goal, two assists, a clean sheet and three bonus points.
Kevin Schade (£6.0m) registered 15-points in Gameweek 5. The Brentford midfielder scored twice in Gameweek 4 and has already returned two double-digit hauls.
Crystal Palace play Leeds in Gameweek 4. Jayden Bogle (£4.5m) is their top scoring player.
The defender has registered 37 points so far courtesy of two goals, three clean sheets and six bonus points.
After Gameweek 5 there is a three-week window before the next Premier League match, as the traditional September and October international breaks have now been merged into one.
It could be a good moment for managers to play their Wildcard chip after the Gameweek 5 deadline has passed. Playing the chip ahead of Gameweek 6 means managers will have an extra gameweek of data, as well as plenty of time to consider your options.
Playing the Wildcard for Gameweek 6, also means that managers can take a one-week-punt on a player with a good fixture this week, in Gameweek 5, without having to worry about their long-term fixtures.
