England grabbed our second equaliser of the afternoon on 70 minutes - tapping home from close-range after Sierra Enge's strike crashed off the crossbar.
Lexi Lloyd-Smith put Palace 3-2 up just seven minutes later, but a deflected finish from Suzu Amano late on meant that each side had to settle for a point.
Reflecting on the game as a whole, England said: "I thought it was end-to-end, obviously chaotic. Disappointing first five minutes, obviously conceding so early.
"We managed to get ourselves back in the game and then conceded so quickly again, but we went in at half-time, we regrouped, and we really took the game to them."
Palace were under pressure for a lot of the first 45 minutes, with England keen to praise the opposition as well as Palace's change in mentality in the second-half.
"In first-half, we were nowhere near first and second balls. I thought Birmingham played some really great football.
"But we can also play great football, and I think we showed that in the second-half. We took the game to them. I think they probably thought they were gonna have much more of the ball than they did.
"We were able to get in their face a bit more, get some shots away and take the game to them," England said.

Palace did pile on the pressure and it soon told, as England bagged her first goal for the club.
She spoke about how it felt, and what it means.
England said: "Honestly, it feels a long way off. I am disappointed in myself. That [missed] header is my bread and butter but you can't dwell too much as a striker.
"You have to go and be ready for the next one. That's exactly what happened. Whether it was a knockdown and tap in, doesn't matter, they all count.
"I wanna score many goals for this football club, so I'm just glad the one went in today and, hopefully there is many more to come."
She reserved special praise for new signing Sierra Enge - who came on at half-time and changed the game for Palace.
England said: "I'd like to give a little mention for Sierra who came into midfield at half-time. I thought she changed the game for us, her energy.
"She was getting in and around there, and really helping us with the momentum going forward."
Palace now face Charlton Athletic in the Subway Players Cup in midweek, before an away trip to Aston Villa on Sunday.
England is keen not to underestimate Wednesday's opposition, believing that Palace will be in for another tough game.
She said: "I think it's gonna be tough - another promoted team. They're trying to survive in the league just as much as anyone else.
"It's a great opportunity for us to make sure that our players are still getting those match minutes, keeping fit, keeping that sharpness and being ready to go again."
