He is a capable defender who is adept at playing both at centre-back and left-back.
After making a strong start with the Academy, he was brought up to the Under-23s side by Shaun Derry in the 2020/21 season. He went on to make eight appearances, including alongside first-team pros Gary Cahill and Mamadou Sakho, and at Selhurst Park.
Watson notched 12 apperances in the 2021/22 campaign for the U23s as they finished fifth in their first season in the Premier League 2 Division 1.
In 2022/23, Watson made 28 appearances in all competitions, helping the side to the Premier League International Cup final.
The defender secured an extension to his contract at the end of 22/23.
