Preview:Bristol City

21 August 2012

Bristol City: The Robins survived their fight against relegation last season and have made additions to the playing squad in the summer ready for the new campaign. The latest being striker Steve Davies who completed a move from Derby on Monday, signing a three-year deal at Ashton Gate.

It is likely he will go straight into the squad for tonight's match and joins fellow summer new boys, Mark Wilson, Greg Cunningham, Paul Anderson and Tom Heaton.

They started the season with a defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday but they took plenty of positives from the game and are now focussing on their two home games within four days.

"We know Crystal Palace are tough opponents; they're well disciplined and don't give away much.

"We didn't go and ask enough questions of Nottingham Forest so we've got to make sure this isn't the case on Tuesday.

"There was so much of the day we were pleased about but we've got to be positive in the final third.

"The players enjoyed playing at home last year and when we had a cause, they responded."

Team News:

Bristol City: Steve Davies could go straight into Bristol City's squad to face Crystal Palace on Tuesday after the striker completed a move from Derby.

Striker Ryan Taylor is recovering from an ankle injury and Jody Morris is yet to make his Robins debut.

Crystal Palace: Dougie Freedman had to contend with injuries as he named his squad for the opening day and for the visit to Ashton Gate it could be that he will once again be without Paddy McCarthy and Jonathan Williams.
