Preview: Cardiff v Palace

25 December 2012

Cardiff City go into the festive fixtures at the top of the Championship for the second meeting of these two sides of the season. A Glenn Murray hat-trick sealed the win for Palace when both met at Selhurst in September.

Malky Mackay'’s side go into the game with an impressive record this term having won 14 of their last 20 league games but this Boxing Day clash really does see two of the form sides meet in what is set to be a real cracker of a match with the visitors having lost one of their last 20 league games and on a current unbeaten run of five matches.

Both sides hold the title as joint top scorers in the Championship and each side have found the net in 22 of their last 23 outings.

Cardiff manager Malky Mackay will be without defender Matthew Connolly who is suspended for this one while midfielder Kadeem Harris is close to making a comeback after an ankle injury but Nicky Maynard remains sidelined with a knee injury.
Crystal Palace will be without defender Damien Delaney who is suspended after being dismissed against Huddersfield so it could be that Danny Gabbidon will be handed his first start in a Palace shirt.
