Referee and their assistants usually have to sit through so called experts giving a view on their performance after a game, are you one of those experts ?, well now you have a chance to find out how difficult the job really is. Now you can learn what it takes to make those decisions by becoming a referee. Surrey County FA are about to start training the next generation of referees, so why not take that leap and gain a more informed opinion of the person out there in the middle making the call.
Places are limited to 24 per course and the minimum age is 14-years-old. Places are allocated to those with a Surrey address first. If places become available at a later daye out-of-county candidates may be considered.
The Spring 2013 Basic Referee Courses in Epsom, Woking and Croydon dates have now been confirmed and are shown below. Full details including the Course Booking form can be found at surreyfa.com/referees/courses.
Croydon Start Date 4th February Exam 19th February
Epsom Start Date 9th February Exam 16th February
Woking Start Date 21st February Exam 1st March
The Safeguarding Children in Football Workshop for the above courses will be on Wednesday 20th February 2013 in Leatherhead.
Cost per candidate is £130 plus FA CRB if required.
Please note that it is a requirement that the Safeguarding element of the course must be completed before a candidate can sit the exams.
Candidates aged 18 and over must hold an FA CRB or have applied for an FA CRB before they can sit the exams. If you wish to book on a course please go to surreyfa.com/referees/courses and complete the course booking form and return it along with a cheque or credit/debit card details to Tim Lawrence, Referee Development Officer, at Surrey County FA.
Cost for all candidates is £130.00 which includes Course Fee, County FA Registration and Safeguarding Children Workshop. FA CRB required for those aged 18 and over at an extra cost.
