Palace's Under-21 Fixtures Announced

4 August 2014

Crystal Palace's under-21 side will start their Premier League Development League Two campaign with a testing trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

Gary Issot's men will make the trip to Yorkshire on Wednesday 20th August 2014 - four days after the senior squad take on Arsenal in their Premier League opener.

The Eagles' first home game of the season comes six days later, when Colchester United are the visitors to Tooting and Mitcham's Imperial Fields on Tuesday 26th August 2014.

Palace's second home fixture of the campaign, against Sheffield United on Tuesday 2nd September, will be played at Selhurst Park in a 7pm kick-off.

That is one of three games set to be played in SE25 in order to meet Premier League Development League Two rules, with clashes against Brentford on Tuesday 28th October and Cardiff City on Monday 9th March also taking place under the floodlights at Selhurst Park. Both of those matches will also get underway at 7pm.

Issott's young Eagles will be looking to improve on their 2013/14 campaign when, despite a slow start, they recovered to finish third in the league, just one point outside the play-off places which went to Queens Park Rangers and league winners Cardiff.

Just as they did last season, Palace's development side will face local derbies against both Millwall and Charlton Athletic, as well as a number of new opponents for this term including Nottingham Forest, Coventry City and Barnsley.
