Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis is delighted to have completed the signing of striker Fraizer Campbell.
The former Manchester United youngster joined the Eagles from Cardiff City yesterday, with his new teammates currently smack bang in the middle of their American tour.
Speaking to cpfc.co.uk after Palace’s 1-0 victory over Philadelphia Union in the early hours of this morning, Pulis gave his reaction to the positive news reaching the travelling party from south London.
“I’m pleased – it’s a signing we’ve worked very hard to do over a period of time,” the gaffer said.
“I’m disappointed we’ve not been able to bring him out here, but pleased that he’s signed.
“We need goals, as you’ve seen today – we need people who can put the ball in the back of the net.
“We created lots of chances today and needed an own goal to win the game, so we need to improve that.
“He’s got a good attitude and works hard. He’ll blend in well with the rest of the group because that’s what the group have got.”
Campbell, 26, is Pulis' second signing of the summer following the capture of former Blackpool goalkeeper Chris Kettings last month.
