Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni will be among the guests when Sky Sports football expert Guillem Balague calls into Selhurst Park on March 20 to talk La Liga, Leo Messi, Pep Guardiola and all things football.
Guillem is a key figure in Sky Sports’ coverage of Spanish football, appearing regularly both on live match coverage and on the weekly round-up show, Revista de la Liga, plus is a regular contributor to the Daily Telegraph and Champions magazine.
He has recently published his critically acclaimed book ‘Messi’ on the story so far of Leo Messi, which follows his biography of the former Barcelona and present Bayern Munich manager ‘Pep Guardiola, Another Way of Winning’. He also wrote the best-selling ‘A Season on the Brink’ an insider’s account of Liverpool’s 2004-05 Champions League winning campaign.
For more than 20 years Guillem has had his finger on the pulse of Spanish football and is widely recognised as the foremost expert in the field. It was he who revealed exclusively that Cristiano Ronaldo would be joining Real Madrid from Manchester United and also that Neymar would be going to Barcelona from Santos, as well as other high profile transfers including David Beckham, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata.
During his time at the forefront of his profession, he has built an unrivaled network of contacts and friends and has interviewed the likes of Jose Mourinho, Wayne Rooney, Sir Alex Ferguson and Beckham to name but a few.
In addition to Palace shot-stopper Speroni, Guillem will be joined on stage by his old mates from the Talksport radio show, ‘Football First in Europe’, namely Adrian Durham, Gabriele Marcotti and Raphael Honigstein for an evening of discussion, anecdotes, insights and observations, and of course a question and answer session with the audience.
