Crystal Palace backroom duo Keith Millen and Gary Issott were just two of the very special guests at Selhurst Park this week, as hundreds of people attended this season's end of season sporting fundraisers for the Crystal Palace academy.
Former England international Stuart Pearce was the guest speaker on the two nights, looking ahead to the World Cup and reflecting on a successful playing career that saw him turn out for the likes of Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and West Ham United, while winning 78 caps at international level.
Hosted by MC Barry Williams and with superb stand-up comedy from Rod Woodward, the events were a great end to a successful season for the club.
Crystal Palace would like to extend their gratitude to Henry Williamson (Boyden Tiles, Wednesday) and Neil Godfrey (GAC, Thursday), who were the event sponsors for both nights, held in the club's Stanley Stephenson Lounge.
We would also like to wish a big thank to all of those who contributed to the auctions and raffles, which raised funds for the Crystal Palace academy.
Check out the website later in the summer for details of our forthcoming sporting dinners - and keep an eye on Palace Player ahead of the World Cup, as Stuart Pearce provides his thoughts on the Three Lions' chances in Brazil this summer!
